Even though it has been very difficult for many visitors to get to the fair due to the volcano ash-cloud, the BAUMA 2010 has been very successful for JOEST. Numerous new contacts have been established as well as many interesting discussions and interviews with people from our industries. JÖST presented their product portfolio for the mineral processing on a huge plasma screen.

A new Aftermarket business unit has been created to bring improved focus on customer services. Over the past few years JOEST Australia has exported machines to many neighbouring countries and regions including China, Vietnam, Thailand, Egypt, West Africa, New Guinea & New Zealand. Current orders include 9 machines for a project in Thailand for delivery later in 2010. March 2010JOEST AUSTRALIA DELIVERS 5 TOWER MILLS FOR KARARA IRON ORE PROJECT JOEST Australia Pty Ltd, sole Australian agent for the Eirich mixing & grinding equipment for the mining industry have completed manufacture of 5 Tower Mills on time. For the production of high grade magnetite, Nippon Eirich of Narita-city, Japan has supplied Karara Mining Limited (KML) with five units of their KW-1500 tower mill, for fine grinding of the iron ore down to 35 microns. Each tower mill is equipped with a main drive motor with 1.12 MW of installed power, and improved wear liners to increase service life and reduce operating costs.
The KML Iron Ore Project is Gindalbie Metals Ltd’s cornerstone project in the Mid West region of Western Australia. Gindalbie is developing Karara through a 50:50 Joint Venture with Chinese steel producer, AnSteel. Karara will deliver some 10Mtpa of iron products from 2010, comprising 8Mtpa of high grade magnetite concentrate and blast furnace quality pellets and 2Mtpa of Direct Shipping Ore (DSO) hematite. The KML tower mills were manufactured in Japan and Australia, completed in March 2010. This complements Eirich’s recent delivery of another five units of the KW-1500 tower mill for iron ore grinding in Asia. Nippon Eirich is part of the international Eirich Group with its headquarters based in Hardheim, Germany. The Eirich Group specialises in industrial mixing and fine grinding equipment, and plant engineering in diverse technical product markets, including mixers for ore pelletising and sinter preparation of up to 1400 t/h. JOEST Australia Pty. Ltd, Eirich Group’s agent for all mining activities in Australia, will provide customer service and after-sales support for the tower mills at Karara.
