Safety

JOEST is committed to conducting its operations safely. It is the company's objective to eliminate injury-causing accidents from its operations and thereby record and sustain zero injury frequency rating.

To achieve this the company has implemented:

  • a policy on occupational health and safety

  • a safety system and project specific safety plans

  • measurement and recording systems to monitor performance and identify areas where we should improve.

Safety and Health Policy

Everyone at JOEST has a personal responsibility for their own safety and that of their workmates. In pursuit or our goal, JOEST will provide:

  • leadership

  • systems for identifying, reporting, correcting and managing all hazards

  • training

  • open communication with our people.

We will not carry out any job if it cannot be done safely.

Safety Management System

JOEST manages safety at its operations through the application of its internal safety management system. This specifies accountabilities for safety management and monitoring required at every level of the organisation. Performance is reviewed regularly.

Quality

Our commitment to quality flows from the fact that, long after equipment is supplied and installed, our reputation will continue to be influenced by the quality of the work and service we provided. JOEST has a documented system of comprehensive and practical management plans and procedures to ensure that the quality of our service satisfies our clients, and our own, criteria.

Management is committed, and responsible for, the continual development of the system and its application in all operations.

The system is upgraded as a result of a continual improvement strategy and monitored for compliance. Sub-contractors are assessed to ensure they meet our quality standards.

Our business depends on our customers having confidence in the quality of the service we provide.

JOEST Quality System

The JOEST quality system is an essential part of our business and has been design to give management and every employee a framework that will enable the company to meet its quality objective.

The system:

  • enables the company's work to consistently meet client requirements
  • maintains the standards to be adopted in manufacture and customer services
  • sustains the changes generated by process improvement activities
  • facilitates the review of quality objectives and continuing suitability

Environmental

JOEST is committed to responsible environmental behaviour at all times and in all aspects of its business. The commitment is supported by: 

  • An internal audit process providing assurance on environmental performance.

Environmental management is guided by the cpomp0onents of the environmental management plan, including:

  • environmental management controls/procedures
  • inspection and audit requirements
  • monitoring requirements
  • training requirements

The environmental management plan defines:

  • outcomes of environmental risk assessments and contractual and legislative boundaries
  • document control and retention of records
  • incident reporting and community complaint management
  • emergency response procedures
  • environmental performance reporting

Environmental Policy

JOEST takes particular care that all environmentally sensitive activities are managed to meet our environmental management objectives and all environmental regulatory requirements. Action is taken to:

  • Identify the environmental aspects which flow from work activities
  • Evaluate the potential impacts of these aspects on the environment
  • Implement an environmental management system to prevent or mitigate environmental impacts, pollution, property damage and process loss.
  • Establish and operate a monitoring and reporting program as part of the environmental management system
  • Continuously review and improve the environmental management system
  • Ensure the availability of resources and skills to enable compliance with environmental legislation, legal requirements and achievement of client environmental management objectives
  • Promote communication about environmental management as a normal component of all aspects of work, but with particular emphasis upon project induction programs and environmental awareness training.
